Mental Health includes our emotional, psychological and social wellbeing. It affects how we think, feel and even act. Our Mental Health is very important because it helps determine how we relate to others, handle stress and make choices in life. This also works in reverse. The different aspects of ones life, such as interpersonal relationships and physical factors can all impact our mental health. Other conditions such as stress, anxiety and depression can also affect a persons mental health. Good Mental health is a delicate balance of many factors and elements in ones life. Together, they help to either contribute to good mental health or potentially cause disruptions. In this portfolio, we explore important aspects of mental health that teenagers and adults should be aware of to ensure that we are giving them the best foundation to achieve ongoing wellness and happiness. Children who have difficulty with speech and articulation would benefit from this set. These may include children with apraxia of speech, autism, Down Syndrome and severe phonological processes would benefit from these cards. Children who have difficulty with speech and articulation would benefit from this set. These may include children with apraxia of speech, autism, Down Syndrome and severe phonological processes would benefit from these cards. These cards would even help in building up the students vocabulary. There are two buckets included at the end of the set. This is a fun, engaging, creative and non-threatening intervention which is great for students to explore self esteem strategies. Sandwich ingredients represent the various strategies to support the student to use self esteem strategies. The following strategies are included: be authentic, eat healthy foods, exercise regularly, good sleep, positive affirmations, list your wins and accomplishments, pamper yourself, favourite music, create a memory box, clean environment, avoid triggers, deep breathing/meditation, set realistic goal and take action and surround yourself with positive people. Laminate and use white board markers for students to write their own Self Esteem strategies to create their own unique “Self Esteem” sandwich. This is great for a lunch time individual or group therapy intervention.
